Taylor Ealand: [00:00:00] And we are live. Anything you say can and will be held against you in the court of public opinion. Things are very timely and this probably won't even be relevant by next week. And many of you are already going to know a lot of the news that's going on.

[00:00:30] It is just me today here on Contrarix on I guess what will be episode 42 and a half. There've been some pretty gnarly developments. It looks like Chris Cuomo may be going down, not for killing all kinds of old people and all that, but for sexual harassment claims, and people all the way up to the president of the United States of America are asking for him to resign from his post as New York governor, which is a crazy move.

[00:00:59]New York Mayor De Blasio has decided to choose now to announce a quasi-vaccine mandate in which if you want to engage in indoor activities within the boundaries of New York City, you will have to show proof of vaccination. This includes eating at private restaurants and going to other private events, say a movie screenings or comedy clubs, that type of nature, which will be the boldest move in the

[00:01:30] us so far concerning vaccines, but likely not the last of these types of moves. I find it interesting that three-ish days before this was announced, a supreme court case began making the rounds on Twitter and other parts of the internet that outlined that it was okay for states to impose vaccine mandates in certain cases, back from 1905.

[00:01:56] And when I did my own research, I could not find case law that overruled, that particular part of the case. So it'll be interesting to see what happens cause I'm sure thanks to New York City and I'm sure cities will follow the vaccine mandate question. This case will be challenged, but it's odd to me that it became part of the public interest that quickly because due to the slow nature of governments, it's not like they saw this case three days ago and decided to act on it.

[00:02:27] These types of proposals and regulations take weeks to plan out and then test out and then see what the political capital would take and all this. So I find it interesting that this is happening right now. And then in other news - this is not a slow news day. The British military is suggesting that a number of oil tankers Out in the middle east have been potentially captured by forces.

[00:02:54] Armed forces is the suggestion, I think is the Iranians in retaliation for accusations that they used a suicide drone type of system to take down another tanker? We also have I said, Iran, I should have said Iran, we have Iran potentially provoking the west in waters, around the seas.

[00:03:13] And of course, what we're talking about primarily today, online as Americans is the fact that Cuomo is an alleged sexual predator. That's the news. It's barely three o'clock Pacific time and we'll see what else comes by the end of the day. If you enjoy the smaller tidbits, let me know. And I will release them more often if you so desire.

[00:03:40] Crazy. It is an absolutely crazy day. And it's interesting because as this, I want to go back to the vaccine mandate if you don't mind for a moment and provide my own little commentary, there are people who are going to suggest and have suggested that the vaccine mandate is a breach of constitutional rights.

[00:04:01] And I never fully bought this idea because it seemed like a state's rights sort of issue. And there is a clause in the U.S.Constitution that suggests that the federal government can- the legislature can make laws for the general welfare of the populace, something along those lines. And furthermore states have broad police powers.

[00:04:23] And I just figured that, with all the other quasi vaccine mandates, we have that have carve-outs for, of course, those who would get sick from the vaccines or religious institutions. You have to have vaccines to go to public schools and meaning universities. So I am not shocked to see this happen.

[00:04:39]It'll be interesting to see what the political cost of it happening is. And I have already seen all kinds of people say that  this is the final straw they're leaving New York city. Claims as if you know this, we get the fascism we allow, and this is the fascism we have allowed. And I just want to point out something, perhaps a warning call to conservatives.

[00:04:59] When the left sees something they look at as an injustice and they don't like it. They challenge it, they protest it, they fight for their city. And oftentimes they win when the right see's an justice, they move. And the injustice continues to fester. I don't think the world gets any better by the continual moving away from places like New York, California, Washington, into red states, because now we're becoming increasingly divided and I hope at some level the right regains some sort of spine.

[00:05:46] Protest peacefully, walk the streets, ignore the laws. If you truly believe it's a bad thing. I think it's within the government's right to do. I don't think it's the right decision to make. I think vaccine mandates are a bad idea. I think the government has bungled enough of the science and the communications surrounding the vaccine.

[00:06:11] That the primary reason people are hesitant is not because of the vaccine itself, but because of the government. And I think we would be better off if the government and media would take a step aside and let people who are more better communicators discuss the risks of COVID and the benefits of the vaccine.

[00:06:30] That's my 2 cents for what they're worth. Thank you for listening to this quick extra episode of contracts. If you like this format, let me know, have a good one.
